English

We teach English at multiple levels, beginning with basic conversation skills and moving up to Grade 5.

Our English classes go from 9:45am-12pm Mondays through Thursdays.

We currently follow a schedule that will keep us in sync with the Columbus city schools allowing parents to be with their children during breaks.

Citizenship

We prepare our immigrant refugee friends for US citizenship, equipping them to understand the privileges and responsibilities that go along with being a good citizen.

Tutoring

The goal of the Tutoring program is to provide every student (1-12) one-on-one tutoring in Math and Reading comprehension.

For high school students, the focus includes English, Science, Social Studies and Spanish, and also preparation for OGT, SAT and ACT exams.

We meet Monday and Thursday evenings at 7pm.

Our volunteer teachers encourage and motivate our students to succeed in the classroom and move on to some form of higher education after high school.

Soup Kitchen

We serve those that might be described as on the ‘fringe’ of society - those who are impoverished... those who suffer from chronic homelessness.

We host a weekly soup kitchen on Tuesday nights and a food & needs pantry.

Legal Clinic

The clinic exists to help low-income persons who are unable to afford a lawyer to take one step closer to resolving their legal issues. Interpreters are available on-call for any language upon request.

Participants are matched with an attorney with appropriate specialization or experience, so we do not operate on a “first-come-first-served” basis.  Rather, we will make sure participants have the best match to the skills of their lawyer.

The clinic is open the second Thursday of the month, 5:30-7:30 pm at Crossroads United Methodist Church, 1100 S. Hague Avenue.
